十月二号的早晨，我和妈妈以及我们的朋友们，驱车来到了太行山山脉的顺平境内，太行山山脉连绵起伏，在飘渺的云烟中像一条蜿蜒的巨龙。
我们把车停在路边，准备进山。刚一往里走，就看到了一片绿油油的大白菜地，我真想马上变成小白兔，在地上啃几口大白菜。一路走，我们说说笑笑，路边开着各色的野花，大家边爬山，边采野花，很快就采了一大把呢！
爬到了半山腰，看见了一棵酸枣树，上面的酸枣早已变红了，那么诱人，真像一颗颗的红宝石。有个阿姨把酸枣都摘下来，分给了我们，我吃着酸甜可口的小酸枣，高兴得不得了。
我们一边爬山，一边哼着小曲，很快就到了顶峰，只见云彩在空中飘动，云影在山野上流动，光影在山上忽明忽暗地变幻，非常迷人。往远处望去，有一大片毛毛草群，它们随风飘动，真像一望无边的银色丝毯，在山上流动；还像波光粼粼的`水面，美极了！
刚下山，我们又急着去果园摘果子。果园里到处充满着丰收的景象，有黑枣树、柿子树、苹果树等，满树的硕果，真诱人。那挂在枝头的大柿子，黄中透着红，一嘟噜一嘟噜的，有的把树枝都压弯了，只可惜柿子还没完全熟，还硬着呢。果树下还长着毛豆，只见那一棵棵毛豆，毛茸茸的，个个饱满，像是要撑破肚皮一样；坡地上还种着南瓜，起初看到了一大堆瓜秧，看不到瓜，有个舅舅就趴在地上，拽着瓜秧，有个阿姨过来拽着舅舅的衣服，我和姐姐看到了，也过来帮忙，姐姐拽着阿姨的衣服，我拽着姐姐的衣襟，我们喘着粗气，满头大汗，真像小白兔拔萝卜呀！一会儿一个大南瓜就被拽出来了。舅舅高兴地说：“看！这就叫“顺藤摸瓜”呀！”我们乐得前仰后合，笑声传遍了整个果园。

十月二日上午，妈妈带着我坐小姨的车，启程回大山里的老家——吕梁市临县。走了大约两个多小时，妈妈嘴里不停地念叨，快到姥姥家了，快到姥姥家了。一眼望去，都是连绵起伏的大山。大山里的建筑大多是窑洞，住着很多户人家。他们每户都会分到十几亩地。春天在地里播撒种子；夏天顶着烈日勤劳地除草、浇水；秋天迎来喜悦的大丰收；冬天在家里养精蓄锐，为下一年的劳作精心做准备。姥姥姥爷就住在那里。
十月正是收秋的月份，姥姥和姥爷很忙碌，我们到了姥姥家已经下午三点了。第二天我们就帮姥姥姥爷下地掰玉米，摘豆角了。去地里的山路不太难走，任务也不重，掰一亩地的玉米就行了。当我真正看到那一小片玉米林后，心头的负担就卸下来了，原来一亩地就这么大啊！走进地里，我发现，每根玉米秆上只结一个玉米棒。太好啦！我用力剥下玉米的“衣裳”，一掰，金灿灿的一个玉米棒子就掉下来了。哇塞！个个颗粒饱满。我高兴极了。接着，第二个，第三个……没一会，我已经掰了半袋了。我大概数了一数，足足有二十个棒子了。时间过得飞快，转眼间，一亩玉米地都被我们掰完了。好，收摊儿，摘豆角走起。刚开始，我兴致很高，不停地摘，后来却没耐心了。每株玉米秆上就结一个玉米，而豆角一苗就结几十个。摘下两个，抬眼望去，又看见五个，我晕了……
第三天，我们兵分两路。姥姥姥爷以及妈妈和舅妈还去掰玉米，我和小姨小姨夫的任务是摘枣。老家遍地是枣树，姥姥让我们回去时带些枣吃。
到了枣园，看到那些在阳光下泛着光的，红彤彤的枣儿，就有一种收获的喜悦。我们先观察树上那根枝条上结的枣，然后用钩子把那根枝条压到可以够到的高度，挑选好的摘下来。这活儿不怎么累，不一会儿，就摘了一袋子。
经过这几天帮姥姥姥爷去地里收秋，现在我明白了，我们平时吃的粮食，不仅种的时候辛苦，往回收的时候也很辛苦。我要感谢姥姥姥爷，更要感谢像姥姥姥爷一样，辛苦付出给予我们粮食的农民伯伯。
